Warning!! Ensure the wall charger is plugged in when updating and Do not interrupt the firmware update process. Any interruption would damage the firmware and results in non-functioning unit.
Note: We are not responsible if user upgrades the firmware and results in a non-functioning unit. Service charge will apply to fix any non-functioning unit "damaged" by firmware upgrade. However, the chance of failed firmware upgrade is minimal provided proper upgrade instruction is followed.
There is only one manufacturer of this PMP400 unit, the manufacturer DOES NOT sell it to end users nor accept warranty claim directly. If you have seen PMP400 being sold elsewhere, beware that their warranty claim maybe inexistant and they are NOT the actual manufacturer.

Dear Non-Customers,
For those who did not purchase the PMP400 from us or our downstream distributors/resellers, please beware that there is a good chance that your unit will become "dead" by updating to our firmware because there is a few variant of this PMP around and these PMP firmware are not cross compatible.
To check if your unit is compatible with our firmware, take the battery cover off, remove the hard disk, peel off the black plastic film and look for the label printed on the PCB. If it says KFD-4V0, then your unit should be compatible with our firmware. (Use it at your own risk, don't contact us for support because we won't be able to help. You would have to contact the retailer/seller from which you obtained the unit.)
If your unit is compatible with our firmware, you are welcomed to download and install the latest PMP400 firmware at your own risk. Alternatively, you can download and try out the older firmware for free.

To update the firmware on your PMP player, unzip the downloaded file and put the update.bin file into the update folder in the PMP hard disk. Then, go into the setup menu -> other settings -> update firmware -> enter and wait for it to finish.

- To download sample videos, we recommend you visit Stage 6 where you can download many high quality DIVX videos to play on the PMP.
- Note: only firmware ver 8 or later recognize the file extension *.divx, earlier firmware requires you to change the extension from *.divx to *.avi before the video will work, as the PMP do not recognize *.divx.
